Flotilla inquiry to be based in NY; may not travel to ME

The upcoming international inquiry into Israel's May 31 Gaza flotilla raid will be based in New York, and according to Tuesday's comment's by committee chair Sir Geoffrey Palmer, may not travel to the Middle East at all.Sir Geoffrey Palmer, former prime minister of New Zealand, said he expects leading the probe to be the hardest task he's ever faced, according to the New Zealand Herald."I can't think of a harder one that I've had," he said. "I think it's the inherent complexity of it, that's the problem."The committee's vice chairman will be outgoing Colombian President Alvaro Uribe, and it will also include one Israeli and one Turkish member.
