Former MK Roman Bronfman caused an uproar on Thursday when he posted on Twitter that there were also Israeli public figures who had served in the KGB.“Everyone is talking about [Mahmoud] Abbas, but what about the Israeli politicians who the Mossad and Shin Bet know also appeared on the same lists of the KGB,” Bronfman wrote. When asked who the politicians were, he said: “I don’t want to say their names. It’s not my job. But I saw names on lists with my own eyes.”Former Mossad director Danny Yatom, who headed the agency from 1996 to 1998, responded that he was unaware of any Israeli politicians who had been with the KGB.Another former Mossad chief laughed at the question and chose not to respond at all.
