Former OC Intelligence Uri Sagi drops out of Labor primary

Labor lost a major security figure on Wednesday, as Former OC Intelligence Brig.-Gen. Uri Sagi dropped out of the primary race.
Sagi cited "family health reasons" for his departure, and wished Labor luck in the upcoming election.
Labor leader Shelly Yacimovich commended Sagi for contributing to Israel's security, adding that she respects his decision.
Sagi, 69, has also served as OC Southern Command and the head of Mekorot’s board of directors, and published two books, an autobiography and a description his involvement in Israeli negotiations with Syria in 1999-2000. Sagi and his wife live on a farm in Kfar Bialik, where they grow olives and press olive oil.
