French academic arrested

A young French academic arrested at the height of Iran's post-election unrest and charged with spying will attend a court hearing Wednesday, Iran's official news agency reported. Clotilde Reiss, who came to Iran to work for five months at the University of Isfahan, was arrested in July. She was released on bail after a month and a half in custody but only under the condition that she remain at the French Embassy in Teheran until her trial is over. She was among more than 100 people brought to trial starting in August to face accusations of fomenting the turmoil after June's disputed presidential election and seeking to overthrow the government. Wednesday's hearing will the third time the 24-year-old has faced a judge since August.
