Defense Minister Benny Gantz appointed Amir Eshel, current Defense Ministry director-general to appoint someone to the position of head of the National Emergency Authority on Tuesday.
For the last seven months the position had not been permanently filled after Ze'ev Tzok Ram requested to step down in November, and was instead led by a series of officials who temporarily held the position.
