German President visits Israel's Holocaust museum Yad Vashem

German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier on Sunday paid an official visit to Israel's Holocaust museum, Yad Vashem during his stay in the country.

Steinmeier visited the museum's archives, where he was shown documents dating back to World War II. Among the rare documents the German president had been made privy to were the original blueprints that had been used to plan the Auschwitz-Birkenau concentration camp, where millions of Jews perished in the gas chambers and via other torture methods at the hands of the Nazi regime.
