Govt appoints new head

The government approved a new head for the Interior Ministry's Immigration Authority on Sunday, appointing Amnon Ben Ami to the post in a unanimous vote. Dozens of candidates were considered for the position by a special committee, a statement by the Interior Ministry said. Ben Ami has held senior management posts in the ministries of Labor and Welfare, Trade and Industry, and Absorption. Ben Ami, 49, holds a BA in international relations and an MA in business management.
