Government approves yeshiva stipend reform bill

The government approved an limit in the annual stipends for yeshiva students in the next five years and reduced the number of who are entitled to unlimited studies. Fourteen ministers supported the bill, eight opposed it and three abstained from voting.
PMO sources said that the decision changes the current situation, every yeshiva student is eligible to receive a stipend for many years. The government also budgeted NIS 50 million for under-privileged students, as part of an aid fund.
