Hadassah crisis appears close to resolution

After months of ups and downs (mostly downs) in negotiations to save the Hadassah Medical Organization, the various sides apparently were on Thursday close to reaching an agreement on a recovery program.
The government and the HMO hope to present an accord to the Jerusalem District Court early next week, when the creditors and employees are due to vote on the agreement. However, no official statement was issued by any of the parties.
The Histadrut labor federation, at the last minute at 11 a.m. on Thursday, canceled plans for maintenance and administrative workers to establish an emergency schedule in the two Jerusalem hospitals, in protest of what it said were changes in understandings that had already been reached.
