Human remains were found in an old minefield in the Golan Heights on Wednesday. A man walking in the area accidentally entered the area and discovered the remains before contacting police.
Police spokesman Micky Rosenfeld said the remains likely belonged to a Syrian soldier, but that authorities would only know with certainty after running tests. "Based on the geographical location and the uniform, there's a strong possibility this was a Syrian soldier. But this will be finalized over the next 24 to 48 hours," he said
Police will only reach the site on Thursday due the presence of mines in the area.
