IDF opens fire against suspicious man on Syrian border

IDF troops on the Golan Heights identified and opened fire on a "suspicious man" approaching the border fence with a cutting device on Saturday evening, Army Radio reported.

According to the report, the IDF opened fire at the suspect, who attempted to cut through the border fence. The Syrian citizen was hit on his knee, an IDF spokesperson was quoted as saying. He then turned back for Syria.

The IDF is investigating whether the man was trying to carry out an attack. The border has been reinforced recently in light of increasing violence in Syria.
