IMF says managing director Strauss-Kahn resigns

SINGAPORE - Dominique Strauss-Kahnresigned as head of the International Monetary Fund, the IMFsaid in a statement dated May 18, as he faces charges of sexualassault and attempted rape.

"I deny with the greatest possible firmness all of theallegations that have been made against me," Strauss-Kahn saidin his letter of resignation, release by the IMF.
