Iranian importer suspected of 11 murders arrested in Brazil

BRASILIA, Brazil — An Iranian man was arrested in Brazil on Thursday on suspicion of 11 murders allegedly aimed at protecting his illegal electronics smuggling operation.Police in the northeastern state of Ceara said 46-year-old Farhad Marvizi hired two rogue officers and other people to carry out the killings in the last two years.Marvizi allegedly ran a lucrative ring that skirted duties on computers, digital music players and other electronics from Asia.An investigation began in 2008 after the group allegedly tried unsuccessfully to kill a customs agent.
