Israel sets record with number of trucks passing into Gaza

Israel set a new record this week with the number of trucks that passed through the Kerem Shalom Crossing on their way to bring supplies to the Gaza Strip reaching an average of over 300 trucks a day.
According to statistics released by the Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories (COGAT), 1,670 trucks crossed into Gaza this week, almost 200 percent more than the number of trucks that crossed into Gaza before Israel eased up restrictions last June.
COGAT recently decided to completely shut down the Karni Crossing and to operate the Kerem Shalom Crossing as the exclusive cargo crossing into Gaza.
