The Israeli government signed an agreement with the European Space Agency (ESA) on space cooperation for peaceful purposes on Sunday.
Director of the Israeli Space Agency Dr. Zvi Kaplan and CEO of ESA Jean Jacques Doredein signed the agreement as part of the sixth International Space conference in memory of Ilan Ramon, which opened this morning at the Fisher Institute. The signing ceremony was attended by the minister of science and technology.
This is the first such agreement between Israel and the ESA which will allow for joint projects of mutual interest in the exploration of outer space for peaceful purposes. The agreement will also promote exchanges between scientists and engineers, information exchanges and joint conferences and collaborations between research institutions and industries in the field.
