Israeli forces thwart potential stabbing attack in Shuafat

Israeli security forces on Thursday subdued and arrested an Arab man who pulled a knife out on them during an arrest operation in the Palestinian neighborhood of Shuafa in east Jerusalem, police reported.

The incident occurred while Border Police officers were arresting another suspect in the area. During the operation, crowds began to approach the scene in attempt to impede on the actions of the security forces.

One man among the group of Palestinians brandished a knife as he approach the Israeli forces. The officers then "neutralized" and wounded the suspect, police said.

Magen David Adom paramedics treated the suspect at the scene while he was detained for questioning.
