Kid breaks 2,400-year-old artifact

After a child visiting the Israel Museum on Sunday cracked a glass tray from the 4th century BCE, but museum officials said that the piece was fully repaired and returned to its display on Tuesday.
“The item in question is a glass saucer that was already broken in the past, and broke again into two parts,” a statement from the museum said. “Since the repair was made this time by the Israel Museum laboratories, known for their level of professionalism, it would take much effort to notice the fracture with the naked eye.”
Museum officials said that the donors of the piece had been notified, stressing that the saucer was actually now in “better condition than before” the break due to the meticulous repairs.
