The temporary leadership of the Labor Party met on Sunday to discuss logistical issues related to the party's future. They decided that in their next meeting next Sunday, they would try to agree on a date to elect a new leader for the party.
A consensus appears to be building in the party to begin a registration drive for membership now and hold the primary in the fall. MKs Isaac Herzog and Avishay Braverman have announced that they will run. They could be joined by MKs Amir Peretz and Shelly Yacimovich, Tel Aviv mayor Ron Huldai, and former party chairman Amram Mitzna.
