Angry Lebanese villagers have stabbed to death an Egyptian man and paraded his body through a town over allegations he killed four members of a local family, security officials said.
The officials said dozens of residents in the Chouf mountain town of Ketermaya attacked Mohammed Msallem on Thursday as he led police investigators through a reenactment of the killings.
After killing him, they stripped his body down to the underpants, drove it on a car hood, then hanged it from a pole.
The officials said police on the scene could not stop the attackers. They spoke on condition of anonymity in line with regulations.
Msallem was arrested Wednesday on suspicion of shooting two children and their two grandparents. The motive was not immediately clear.
