A Filipino woman working legally in Israel was arrested by the Immigration Authority Wednesday because she got married earlier in the week, reported Army Radio.The woman is being held in the Givon prison facility in central Israel and will be deported, according to the report.The woman, who works legally in the nursing field, married another legal foreign worker. The Interior Ministry claimed that they cannot let foreigners who arrive in Israel to work raise families. Therefore, the couple can choose which one of them gets deported.No precedent in which the Interior Ministry has similarly deported someone for marrying exists.
