Livnat arrives in Ariel to show support for cultural center

Culture and Sport Minister Limor Livnat (Likud) on Monday evening arrived in Ariel to celebrate the opening of the controversial cultural center that has been boycotted by actors and artists from the left of the political spectrum.
Livnat expressed her opposition to the boycott and said "the opening of any cultural center is a happy and exciting event but this event in Ariel is much more exciting."
"Ariel has been dreaming of this center for many years now and I am overwhelmed by the reaction of the Israeli public who have shown their support for it in the face of a minority of artists who attempted to take away from the residents of Ariel the right to a basic level of culture," the culture and sport minister said.
