Livni: Gov't must intervene against indirect taxation

The government should be addressing social gaps in society and it's role is to intervene when there is a failure in the market, opposition leader Tzipi Livni said on Sunday.
"The story today is not only the price of cottage cheese," Livni told Israel Radio, "but the indirect taxes imposed as the ideology of [Prime Minister Binyamin] Netanyahu and the lack of involvement by the government against this ideology."
"The government must supervise the market, and if the desired result is not achieved, it must go go back and intervene in order to enable every citizen in Israel to live in dignity."
