MK Hotovely seeks to stop Olmert participating in elections

MK Tzipi Hotovely (Likud) has requested the Chairman of the Elections Committee to prevent former Prime Minister Ehud Olmert participating in the upcoming elections.

Turning to the Head of the Central Election Commission, Supreme Court Justice Elyakim Rubinstein, Hotovely said: "It is inconceivable that in this situation, the election committee should allow Olmert to face the election system."

Kadima also attacked Olmert's potential return, with MK Yoel Hasson commenting: "The Likud is vehemently against the possibility of an alternative to Netanyahu."
