MKs Gilon, Horowitz join stalled Ethiopian march to J'lem
MK Ilan Gilon and Nitzan Horowitz (Meretz) joined a number of marchers of Ethiopian ethnic origin making their way from Kiryat Malachi to Jerusalem Tuesday, and appealed to Jerusalem Police to allow their march to continue. The march was denied a permit by Jerusalem Police who said they feared for the marchers@@@ safety due to the lack of shoulders on the ascent to the capital. The marchers are protesting racism against Israelis of Ethiopian origin following news report earlier this month showing how a young Ethiopian family had attempted to purchase an apartment in a certain block of Kiryat Malachi but accidentally discovered that the tenants had collectively signed an agreement not to rent or sell their properties to members of the Ethiopian community.ByREUTERS06/08/2025 07:57 AMByREUTERS06/08/2025 05:36 AMByMAARIV06/07/2025 02:33 PMByWALLA!06/07/2025 11:18 AMByREUTERS06/07/2025 03:25 AM
