A new group of officers are about to join the Navy after completing a two-year four-month naval officer's course this week.The officers included Capt. B, who joined the Navy despite already having served at the Israel Air Force's Air Defense Command.Capt. B always wanted to be in Navy, he said, but was injured before being drafted, and found himself changing his army plans."After I healed from the injury, I saw that I could become a Navy officer, and that I wanted to do this. I wanted to be a commander, and complete a course that combines command skills, technology, combat, and contributing to the IDF," he said.
