Netanyahu calls Nakba Day protests 'unfortunate'

Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu criticized those who commemorate Nakba Day in Sunday's cabinet meeting.
"Today, May 15, is the Gregorian Calendar date on which the State of Israel was founded," Netanyahu said. "The state rose on a basis of equal rights for all of its citizens without differences between religion, race or gender."
He added: "Israeli-Arab citizens are the only Arab citizens in the Middle East that enjoy democracy. I find it unfortunate that there are extremists among Israeli Arabs that turn the day of the state's establishment into a day of conflict, of provocation, of hate and anger."
