Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu announced during the weekly cabinet meeting on Sunday that Israel's National Service budget would be receiving a significant boost of NIS 45 million. Netanyahu expressed hope that the enlarged budget would enable the National Service enterprise to overcome its current financial crisis. In recent weeks, National Service organizations threatened to go on strike due to budget-related difficulties which had impeded the work of the 11,000 volunteers.
