Netanyahu: Without regulations we will have 1,600 serious cases in 3 weeks

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said on Thursday evening during an emergency government meeting to discuss ways of curbing the novel coronavirus resurgence that "without additional regulations, we will reach 1,600 seriously ill coronavirus patients within three weeks."

Earlier in the meeting, Alternate Prime Minister and Defense Minister Benny Gantz suggested the application of a potential nightly curfew.

National Security Adviser and NSC Director Meir Ben Shabbat recommended during the meeting to close the beaches as early as Friday, and impose weekend lockdowns in a format similar to the lockdowns seen during Passover Seders.
