New Health Minister Yael German asks for electric car

Efforts to replace her government assigned BMW with either an electric or hybrid vehicle have thus far failed due to bureaucratic inflexibilities, new Health Minister Yael German wrote on her Facebook page on Monday.

Not only is a hybrid or electric car inexpensive for the government to purchase, these vehicles would also save fuel and prevent diseases generated by environmental contaminants, she said.

“How surprised I was when my request was refused, and they wanted to force me to accept the BMW,” German noted.

The minister said she will continue to drive her personal hybrid car under the government finds a solution and purchases a “green” car that is more cost effective.
