Some NIS 420 million was paid out in 2010 to victims of terror, data released by National Insurance Institute (NII) on Thursday, ahead of Remembrance Day on Sunday night, has revealed.
According to the NII information, some 12 people were killed in Israel over the past year in acts of terrorism against the State of Israel and more than 200 people were injured. Families of those killed and victims of terror are entitled to financial benefits and subsidies under the law.The NII figures also showed that some 981 people have been killed and 17,000 injured since the second Intifada began in 2000. Since 1950 up until today, 2443 people, including 119 non-Israelis, tourists and foreign workers, have been died in terror attacks.
