Police: Evidence gathered against Interior Minister D-G

Police said on Wednesday that sufficient evidence has been gathered against Interior Ministry Director-General Gabi Maimom for an indictment on charges of fraudulence purchasing plots of land reserved for Gush Katif evacuees and local residents in Yad Binyamin.
Maimon was arrested in November, and police announced on Wednesday that they recommend he be charged with fraudulently receiving goods, and using a forged document.
Police also believe the head of Nahal Shorek Regional Council, Eli Eksozido, should be charged with fraud, violating public trust, and providing a false document in connection with the investigation.
The case has been transferred to central district state prosecutors.
