Policeman Mizrahi submits presidential pardon request

A request for the presidential pardon of police officer Shahar Mizrahi was officially received on Sunday, a statement released by Beit Hanassi announced.
Mizrahi received a sentence of 30 months in jail earlier this month for unlawfully shooting and killing a man attempting to steal a vehicle.
According to pardon protocol, the Justice Ministry will send its recommendations on the case to the President, who will then consider the evidence and decide whether or not to issue Mizrahi a pardon.
