Ramallah man sent to 15 years in prison for trying to stab policewoman

The Jerusalem District Court on Tuesday sentenced a Ramallah resident, Asrar Barghouti, to 15 years behind bars for attempting to stab a border policewoman last year. In their decision, the judges wrote that hate crimes against security enforcers should be severely punished, as the perpetrators tend to be glorified as heroes among some members of their communities. Asrar told the court he regretted his actions.
