Rebels battle Gaddafi's forces near eastern oil town

BREGA - Rebels said on Wednesday their forces were fighting with troops loyal to Muammar Gaddafi between Bin Jawad and the oil town of Ras Lanuf, after the Libyan leader launched an offensive on the east.
"The rebels are still in Ras Lanuf," said fighter Ezzedine Saleh. "There are clashes near Bin Jawad," he said, adding that he had returned from the front line overnight.
Another fighter, speaking in the oil town of Brega deeper in the rebel-held east, also said fighting continued between Ras Lanuf and Bin Jawad.
