MADRID - Basque separatist group ETA is prepared to "deepen the path taken" to achieve peace after decades of violent attacks in Spain, the newspaper traditionally used by the organization for its statements said on Tuesday.Gara's report did not state whether that meant ETA was prepared to lay down its arms to underpin the ceasefire it has declared.Gara said it would publish ETA's full statement on Wednesday."The armed organization is "fully convinced" that an opportunity has arisen to build a scenario of peace and freedom in Euskal Herria (the Basque Region), and it reiterates in its statement its readiness 'to deepen the path taken'," the newspaper said.
