Report: Iranian minister says bin Laden died before US raid

Osama bin Laden died long before the US raid on his Pakistan compound, the FARS news agency reported quoting Iranian Intelligence Minister Heidar Moslehi.

"We have accurate information that bin Laden died of illness some time ago," Moslehi was quoted as saying. "If the US military and intelligence apparatus have really arrested or killed bin Laden, why don't they show him (his dead body) why have they thrown his corpse into the sea?"

This false news, the Iranian intelligence minister said, shows that the White House is seeking to "overshadow regional awakening." He accused US officials of using "such PR campaigns" to divert attention from domestic issues as well as "their fragile economic situation."
