Report: Israeli ambassador returns to Cairo

Incumbent Israeli Ambassador to Egypt Yitzhak Levanon returned to Cairo on Sunday after having left when Egyptian mobs stormed the embassy in September.
Levanon returned to Cairo, after visiting Istanbul, to bid farewell to Egyptian officials prior to the end of his term. The Foreign Ministry said his trip was a private visit.
The incumbent ambassador's return to Cairo was his first since Egyptian protesters stormed the mission. Levanon and other embassy staff were airlifted out of Egypt when thousands of angry protesters broke down a cement security wall that had been constructed by the Egyptian authorities and raided the building where the embassy was located.
