Report: Malaysia, Australia to sign refugee swap deal

KUALA LUMPUR - Malaysia and Australia will sign a deal on Monday to swap refugees, a source with direct knowledge of the matter said on Friday.
The deal will ensure that the rights of the asylum seekers will be respected and would take several years to execute, said the source who declined to be identified as the deal has not been announced.
"It's confirmed, both countries will sign an arrangement to swap refugees on Monday in Kuala Lumpur", the source told Reuters.
Australia and Malaysia had struck a deal in May on handling boatpeople arriving on Australian shores but the issue has triggered criticism from rights groups who say that the rights of refugees could be compromised.
