Report: Turkish PM to visit Gaza to reconcile Hamas, PA

Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan plans to visit to Gaza, Turkish daily Today's Zaman reported on Friday.
Erdoğan told journalists on a return trip from Berlin that he has plans to visit Gaza soon and that authorities are having talks with officials in Gaza to realize this trip. According to Zaman, Erdoğan offered the Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas to visit Gaza together. “He was warm to the suggestion,” Erdoğan was quoted as saying.
According to Zaman, Erdoğan also reiterated his demand that Israel lift its blockade of Gaza. He said German Chancellor Angela Merkel asked him to take steps to normalize ties with Israel during his visit to Berlin.
“It is impossible that our relations will be mended unless these demands are realized,” Zaman quoted Erdoğan as saying. “We said this to Merkel.”
