Report: US drone kills 2 al-Qaida militants in Yemen

A US drone strike in Yemen's southern province of Lahj has killed two alleged al-Qaida militants, the New York Times reported on Saturday.Residents told CNN that the drone had been flying at a low altitude between the two strategic districts of Yafe'e and Radman since early Saturday afternoon."The militants were taking a weapons shipment by vehicle to a different location when that strike took place," an anonymous security official told CNN."Pro-government fighters have made it difficult for al-Qaida militants to move around in the province after their defeat last year," he added.A senior defense official also told CNN that 34 people have been killed in 12 drone strikes since July 28.
