Rivlin criticizes Netanyahu's freeze proposal on radio

Speaker of the Knesset MK Reuven Rivlin criticized on live radio Tuesday Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu's proposal that he would extend the settlement freeze if the Palestinians agreed to recognize Israel as a Jewish state.
Rivlin rejected Netanyahu's proposal, calling it a strategic political move rather than an actual proposal.
The Knesset speaker added that he thought the government's decision to freeze settlement construction was wrong, and that "there is no need to mortgage Israel's assets in return for temporary benefits."
