Rouhani in Pakistan to advance bilateral ties between countries

Iranian President Hassan Rouhani's recent visit to Pakistan will help advance bilateral ties in various fields and open a new chapter in the Iran-Pakistan relationship, Pakistani analysts said on Friday.
Rouhani arrived in Islamabad on Friday for a two-day visit, his first since becoming president, and held talks with Pakistani President Mamnoon Hussain and Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif separately.
The leaders of the two countries announced the signing of several memorandums of understanding related to trade and economy and vowed to forge a relationship built on economic development and shared interests.
The two sides also decided to open two crossing points along their border to boost trade and discussed ways to explore new opportunities for cooperation in the energy sector, including the export of electricity from Iran to Pakistan.
