Saeb Erekat: Trump has closed the doors to peace

Responding to US President Donald Trump's speech to the United Nations General Assembly Tuesday, Senior Palestinian official Saeb Erekat said that the American administration can no longer play a role in the Israeli-Palestinian peace process.
"President Trump has confirmed that his administration has closed the doors to peace and cannot play a role in peacemaking," Erekat said.
"What his administration did, and continues to do, is to reward and incentivize violations of international law, colonization, war crimes, and apartheid," Erekat said, adding that Trump's rejection of the International Criminal Court is "a rejection of international law."
"The reality today is that due to the one-sided pro-Israel decisions of the US administration, peace between Palestinians and Israelis have been derailed. Peace is a real need for both Palestinian, Israelis and the people of the region," Erekat said.
