Safed man indicted for murdering wife 'without provocation'

The Northern District Attorney's Office served an indictment in the Nazareth District court on Wednesday, charging a 47-year-old Safed resident with murdering his wife.
Jean Spier was arrested on December 30th,  after neighbors called paramedics upon discovering his wife, Rosalyn, apparently beaten to death with a rock.
According to the indictment, Spier had been unemployed for years, and Rosalyn worked as a house-cleaner to support them and their four children.
"[Spier] killed the deceased in cold blood, without any provocation, and under circumstances in which he could understand the consequences of his actions. Further, the defendant had injured his the deceased, his wife, with a steel knife, on two occasions," the indictment charges.
