French President Nicolas Sarkozy sent a letter to the Schalit family wishing captured IDF soldier Gilad Schalit a happy 24th birthday, Israel Radio reported late Friday.
The letter will be read Saturday at a rally held by the Schalits near the prime minister's residence in Jerusalem.
On Friday, Noam and Yoel Schalit along with other supporters for Gilad's release held a Shabbat dinner at the location of the rally.
This year marks Gilad's fifth birthday in captivity.
