Saudi king, Assad to visit Lebanon amid political tensions

Saudi King Abdullah and Syrian President Bashar Assad were scheduled to visit Lebanon on Friday in order to ease tensions caused by the UN tribunal into the assassination of former Lebanese prime minister Rafik Hariri, Reuters reported.
Hizbullah Spiritual Leader Hassan Nasrallah said last week that he expects members of his organization to be implicated in the assassination. Nasrallah condemned the tribunal, stating that it is western backed and tied to Israel.
An indictment of Hizbullah members could potentially strain Lebanon's unity government which is led by Rafik Hariri's son Sa'ad and includes numerous ministers from Nasrallah's organization. King Abdullah is hoping to ease tensions between Hariri and Hizbullah with the help of Assad.
