State to compensate 2 after falsely accusing them of murder

The state was due to compensate two residents of northern Israel after falsely accusing them of kidnapping and murdering an IDF soldier, Army Radio reported Wednesday.
The court convicted another man with murder and sentenced him to life.
Deputy President of the Nazareth District Court ,Judge Yitzhak Cohen approved a settlement agreement signed between the state and the two Kafr Kana residents who were falsely accused of kidnapping and murdering IDF soldier Oleg Shaikhet in 2003.
According to the agreement, the state will pay each of them half a million shekels without admitting liability and the level of damage caused to innocent people.
