Steinitz: After 8 years, time to start building housing

In an interview with Channel 10 news Wednesday Finance Minister Yuval Steinitz commented on the positive growth data released by the Central Bureau of Statistics, saying that the growth was primarily due to cooperation between all sectors of economy. He added that the lowering unemployment levels, unrivaled elsewhere in the Western world, also helped to increase market stability and growth.

Steinitz commented that the economy was successful 2010, and that the government should maintain the same economic framework so as not to end in the same situation as the US or Spain. The government, he boasted, can finally put more money into the education system and higher education.

He also said that the government should begin building housing as it has not done in the past eight years, in order to help elliviate rising rent costs.
