Steinitz readies compensation proposal for South businesses

Finance Minister Yuval Steinitz is preparing a proposal for compensation of business owners in southern Israel following Operation Pillar of Defense, Finance Ministry said on Thursday.

The threat of rockets during the Gaza operation left many citizens in the South, employers and employees alike, unable to work.

The details of the proposal will be finalized in the coming days and will be submitted for the Finance Committee's approval next week.
