Syria: Activists call for global expulsion of Syrian envoys

Syrian activists took to the streets on Friday for a demonstration calling for the expulsion of Syrian ambassadors from countries around the world.

The rally, called "Expel Ambassadors Day," is meant to further isolate Damascus.

"Ambassadors for a mafia regime - they are not ambassadors. They do work which doesn't involve diplomatic work. They start with security work: spying on Syrians abroad. They investigate and extort in order to practice their business trade, legitimate and illegitimate." the Syrian Revolution 2011, a main organizing group of the uprising, said on their Facebook page.

According to the page, Syrian security forces made a number of arrests Thursday morning in Damascus.
